Are you looking for volunteer work for half a day per week? Do you have experience in raising children, do you know how to read and pronounce Arabic letters and do you have experience in teaching? Would you like to provide support to a new generation of Muslim children? Then Tawfiq.nl might be something for you.
Enriching work
Working for and with Tawfiq.nl is enriching. You come into contact with special children, other customs and cultures. As a volunteer you are an important educator for the children. For the Islam lessons to be given, you offer a listening ear, friendly support and practical help for the preservation of the Islamic identity. Twice a week you give Islamic lessons in Dutch to a regular class (max 8) of children from 7 years to 15 years. We will provide you with the lesson content for that week and show the children that they are doing well with the lesson
participating increases self-confidence and confidence in Islam as their religion. After a school season, the students move to the next level and you will have a new class.
Training and development
Tawfiq.nl will provide you with good guidance. You will receive training and the coordinator will guide you through the teaching until you master it and understand the concept. There are monthly meetings and during these meetings you exchange experiences with other colleagues. This way you learn from each other and develop at work.
Tawfiq.nl is for families with growing children from 7 to 15 years old. Do you have a stronger bond with children of a specific age group? As a volunteer, you indicate which age you prefer to work with.
What does your work entail?
-You teach from home for 2.5 hours at the weekend and 1.5 hours during the week in the evening
-You teach educational Islamic lessons and teach children to read Arabic (7-15 years)
-You do not take over any affairs from the parents; you stand next to the family with the Islamic lessons
-You emphasize the things that are going well in the lesson and not what they feel insecure about
-The contact between you and the parents or educators is equal and of course based on mutual trust

To make our services as efficient as possible, we do not offer telephone support with a fixed staff. You do have the option to contact us by email whenever it suits you. We will then contact you the same day within office hours. If you have any questions or uncertainties and we are unable to resolve the matter by e-mail, we will contact you by telephone if you wish.
Privacy
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We do store your personal information (name, email and telephone number) in our electronic file for possible later communication with you. This applies when you contact us via email or form.

– Saturday from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
– Sunday from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
