Why do Muslims fast?

Why do Muslims fast in the month of Ramadan?
Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan because it is a command from Allah swt, to focus on their faith and thus discipline their soul and desires. Fasting is one of the five obligatory pillars or obligatory acts of the Muslim faith. During fasting, eating, drinking and other physical needs are postponed from sunrise to sunset. This is intended to strengthen the soul, strengthen self-control and develop empathy for those who are less fortunate at the time.
Evidence from the Quran as to why Muslims fast
There are several references to fasting in the Quran, including (interpretation of the Quran):
Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 183: “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may fear.”
Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 185: “Fasting is mine, and I will give the reward for it. (Every) effort has its reward.”
Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 186: “When you fast, you should restrain your tongue and avoid anger. And if any of you is insulted or has a dispute with anyone, then say: 'I fast for the Lord of the worlds.' “
These verses indicate that fasting is obligatory for Muslims and that it is a means of focusing on their faith and disciplining themselves.
In addition, the Quran also emphasizes that fasting is not only physical fasting but also mental and spiritual fasting. This means that one should not only fast from food and drink, but also fast from bad thoughts and behavior.

Our foundation also works as much as possible with its own working capacity, are free, independent and unbound and rely only on Allah as the Only Provider.
