The effect of the behavior
from educators and caregivers to young Muslims

The behavior of parents, educators, teachers, du'āt and sheikhs has a huge effect on the tarbiyah (upbringing, development and upbringing) of young people. So they have to pay attention and set good examples that touch the hearts of young people. Educators and caregivers should be righteous, pious, serious, kind, generous, humble, avoid boastful behavior, and be people who seek knowledge and do their best to help others. This is rooted in their worship of Allah; for that is the first thing that improves the hearts and limbs. Look at this example of Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) who stayed with a young Companion until the day he died. 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbās (رضي الله عنهما) was still a boy and visited his maternal aunt. He said:

“I stayed overnight at my aunt's house, Maimunah. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) slept part of the night, and then, late at night, he got up and performed the ritual ablution of a hanging water skin, and it was a light ablution and then he stood up for the prayer . I also (followed him) performed a similar ablution, and then I stood on his left. However, he grabbed me and moved me to the right and then prayed as much as Allah pleased. Then he lay down again and slept until his breathing could be heard. Later the Mu'adhin (caller to prayer) came to him and told him that it was time for prayer… “(Bukhari, 138; Muslim, 763)

Ibn 'Abbās shared this experience as a young boy with the one he loved and respected. He saw the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) stand up, perform wudoo and begin to pray. So, what did he do? The same that every young person does from those he respects, loves and admires. He watched him, followed him and joined him so that he even said, “I have also performed a similar ablution.”

The importance of setting a good example and avoiding a bad example in the eyes of young people should not be underestimated, in addition to the immense reward for the one who sets a good example, followed by others. Take this narration from Jareer ibn Abdillāh (رضي الله عنه) who said: “While we were with the Messenger of Allah in the early hours of the morning, some people came who were barely clothed and barefoot, with their swords around their necks. . Most of them belonged to the Mudar tribe. The face of the Messenger of Allah changed when he saw them in such abject poverty. ” After the prayer he stood up and addressed the people, so he recited:

'O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every man look at what he has sent for tomorrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Aware of what you do. '

'Then they gave charity, some gave a dinar, others a dirham, or a garment, or a sā' (nearly 3 kg) of wheat, or a sā' of dates, until the messenger said:
'Even half a date.'

A man from the Ansār came with a bag of money that his hands could barely lift. The people followed each other in giving charity until I saw two heaps of food and clothing, and I saw the face of the Messenger of Allah shining like gold with joy. Then the Messenger of Allah said:

'Whoever sets a good precedent in Islam, he will receive the reward for it, and the reward of those who acted on it, without detracting in the least from their reward. And whoever sets a bad precedent in Islam, he will have the burden of sin for it, and the burden of those who acted in accordance with it, without it lessening their burden in the least.” (An-Nasā'i, 2554; Muslim, 1017)

We are not a commercial institution but are a self-organization that does not use or request government subsidies. We are a foundation that, when necessary, raises collections and asks for financial support and donations from its community. Our foundation will also organize benefits when the need is dire or progressive to safeguard the Islamic identity of Dutch Muslims. Our foundation also works as much as possible with its own working capacity, are free, independent and unbound and rely only on Allah as the Only Provider.
